Good Business Practice

Another reason to love businesses that are looking out for you.

I'd like to compare two different companies and how they do business. About two years ago, I had a client that was controlling their own domain name through Network Solutions. Unfortunately, she let her domain registration lapse. When she realized what had happened, she quickly tried to get the domain renewed. However, Network Solutions was in essence holding her domain hostage, and demanded that she pay around $300 dollars to get the domain back.

Scenario #2. I have a client that is controlling their own domain through GoDaddy. Last week they let their registration lapse. They too, quickly went to renew the domain. Guess what. GoDaddy was "holding" their domain just in case they wanted to renew. They didn't charge anything extra for the renewal. No extra fees. Just the basic normal low price of renewing.

Now, I'll tell you that I've been using GoDaddy for quite a while now. But the more I learn about how they do business, the more I realize why they are the biggest and fastest growing domain registrar. They look out for you. They have your best interests at heart.
